How to install MotoCranx

Hi there!

Thank you for purchasing MotoCranx. We love riding 'em, and we know you will too.

Installation is easy:

Remove your bike's drivetrain. You'll need whichever bottom bracket tool your bike uses, or take your bike to a local shop and give them the satisfaction.

Decide which MotoCranx adapter goes on which side of your bike. Look inside the inner bore of the adapters. The non-drive-side adapter has a little "L" Sharpied in there. The non-drive-side pedal has a reverse thread, which tightens counterclockwise. The drive-side pedal has a normal thread, which tightens clockwise.

Decide which tool you need for your pedals. Most pedals use a 15mm open ended wrench, a 6mm Allen key or an 8mm Allen key. Grab that tool.

Install your pedals to the MotoCranx adapters. Holding the adapter with a standard SRAM bottom bracket tool, torque the pedal to 35Nm. If the pedals are not torqued sufficiently, they might loosen as you ride.

Install the MotoCranx adapters to your frame. Clean the threads on your frame's bottom bracket. Apply grease to the MotoCranx bottom bracket threads. Using a standard SRAM bottom bracket tool, torque the adapter to 50Nm. That's pretty darn snug.

Check the torque on the pedals and adapters before each ride.

Have fun!!!

Assumption of risk: Riding bikes is inherently risky. Modifying a stock bike carries additional risk, which includes but is not limited to injury, death or damage to the bike frame or components. When you put MotoCranx on your bike, you assume all of the risks and enjoy all of the stoke.
